HERE’S JOHNNY

Happy birthday to John MilesJOHN MILES Night Of The Proms – Sportpaleis – Antwerp, Belgium – October 29, 2010

He’s one of the artists I’ve seen live the most times. But never really on purpose. John Miles is probably best known to the general audience for his 1970’s progressive rock anthem Music. I know him mainly as Tina Turner’s sideman. He has been part of Tina’s touring band from 1987 until her final tour in 2009; first as a pianist and later as guitar player and band leader. In this role, I’ve seen him sixteen times. It was a nice reunion when I saw him again during the concert series Night Of The Proms in 2010. This time, I was mainly there because Grace Jones was part of the line-up. But John John (as Tina calls him) was also present to sing Queen’s The Show Must Go On…. and his own Music of course! Today Mr Miles turns 67 so join me in wishing him a very happy birthday!
